The DeFi Education Fund has called on the Trump administration to intervene in the criminal case against Roman Storm, co-founder of Tornado Cash. In a letter to White House crypto czar David Sacks, the group criticized the DOJ’s prosecution as an overreach that threatens innovation in open-source software development.

Storm faces charges for allegedly facilitating the laundering of over $1 billion through the crypto mixing service. The Fund argues the case sets a dangerous precedent for developers working on privacy-focused technologies.
